Robotic palletizer
In its packaging line, the Brasserie de Chimay has to palletize and depalletize full beer tubs with precision and speed. A conventional solution using a traditional palletizer was not feasible, mainly for reasons of space. The customer therefore asked us to study a robotized solution that would take up less space, be more flexible in use and scalable.
We used an ABB robot and developed gripping tools inspired by classic palletizer tools, but made of lightweight materials to limit the total on-board weight and hence the size of the robot.
